"Take care of Ellie," Alia said coughing in pain, "Promise me."
"Whatever she needs," replied Mikhail, holding Alias hands and staring in to her glazed eyes.
"Make sure she goes to business school" she said, wheezing in agony, "i want her to be happy. Promise me, you make sure she happy and cared for."
"She'll go to Harvard and she'll never want for anything," he replied tearfully.
"I lo-" Alia started to say but a fit of wet coughs interrupted her, she drew another breath to try and speak again and her eyes closed forever. As the life left her, the wailing of the ambulances and police cars could be heard from a distance. Leaving Mikhail cradling the lifeless body of his best friend. He let out a heart wrenching wail and broke down.
