Juliette Callahan is an empath, but her empathy is partially magical. When someone is really, truly hurting, she takes some of their pain away, so they can function, and heal. But the pain stays within herself, and she cannot get rid of it except for passing it on to someone else. Juliette can also sense other empaths, so she hides her pain in fear that they might try to help her.
However, keeping all of this pain inside of herself is not healthy for Julie, and she becomes very deeply depressed. Her heart is too kind, though, and she keeps helping people at a danger to herself.
One day, she heals a new kid who came to her school. But this one is different, and he can sense her pain, because he is a powerful empath like her. He at once sets out to help the now suicidal girl. Can he save her from herself, before it's too late?

As if being mentally linked to your sister isn't bad enough, Adrian also has to deal with all the emotions of the people around him. He is cursed with empathic ability's, making him able to feel the emotions of the people around him. But when he meets Samantha, who is different than the other students at school, he gets intrigued. There relation starts to bloom, but fate has other plans in store for him. His heart gets brutally crushed. As he recovers he learns that Vanessa, who he didn't like at all, happens to be different than he thought. As Vanessa patches him up again his feelings for her grow. But when Adrian finds out that someone forced Samantha away from him, he allows his feelings for Samantha to grow again. Only to find out Samantha has a dark secret with her. With his feelings renewed for Samantha he wants to help her. But will she let him? And how will he choose between Vanessa and Samantha?
