"Bandits. They were after this," he replied, holding up my sack of gold. I reached for my belt where I kept it, only to find it missing.
"That's mine," I protested, attempting to retrieve it, but he forcefully pushed me against the tree.
"No, it's mine now. I saved you; consider it the fee," he declared.
"How are you any different from those bandits, then?"
"They would have killed you. I could've, but I won't. See? We're very different," he explained.

Jisung, a sick young man, learns of a possible cure for his condition on Heavens Island.
But his journey to said island doesn't go quite as predicted.
It all goes downhill when a group of pirates attack his ship upon its arrival on the island's shore.
