Stories are told of the sphinx-a monster with the head of a woman, the body of a lioness, the wings of an eagle, and a tail tipped with the head of a serpent. This beast was told to have been made to guard the entrance to the Greek city of Thebes. For each traveler to cross her path, a riddle was presented. If they could answer it correctly, access would be granted. What was her riddle?
"What is the creature that walks on four legs in the morning, two legs at noon, and three in the evening?" The price to pay for answering the riddle incorrectly, which of course they all did, was not a simple denial of entry to Thebes. Instead of turning them away, the sphinx, monster that was, strangled them with her tail and devoured them whole.
The story goes that when it finally came to pass that someone could answer her riddle and the consecutive ones to follow, she committed suicide. What else was a girl to do? Some say she threw herself down from the high rocks and fell to her death, while others say that she devoured herself, subjecting herself to the same punishment she dished out to all those who had failed before, a talented feat.
However, the question remains ... what really happened to her?

Someday - A Short Story
Life was dull, boring, and mechanical. I’ve always wondered if this would change. If something interesting will happen. I always hoped something interesting will happen. A falling meteor that would destroy half of town, an alien invasion, or even the Apocalypse. Anything, just to relieve me of this monotonous life I lead. “Urgh,” I groaned as I reached over to turn off the alarm clock that sounded like a hundred sirens in the early hours of dawn. The golden sun hasn’t come out to expel the surrounding darkness yet. I figured it would take an hour more or so for the sun to show its shining face, so I decided to eat breakfast and take a bath first. But little did I know that today was the day that my life would change. It was the day I met her. ---------- A short story. Hey guys! This is my first try writing a pure romance story. White was given to an organization right after she was born, she was a mutant of her own kind, she was known as 72. Growing up from that place until she was five, she never knew anything else except for avoid the needles, avoid the people in white coats and to stay strong. The day she turned five though, was the day everything changed. One kind guard set her free, she felt like a bird, she felt like she could fly and soar through the sky, to forget everything that happened in her past. She did for a while, but of course everything caught up to her. A year passed and White still remembered everything. From the smallest detail of the day. She was only six, on that day, exactly a year after she was able to escape from the Border, the only person that cared for her was killed, she was caught. She was back in bars, and the words that the guard told her still echoed in her mind. "Stay safe, stay alive," her life rules. And the years fly by, and still nothing happened. Orphan Wolf
An elementary aged wolf raised by humans. Everything changes after his first shift. A continuation of "Alpha Lilly". You can read it without reading the first but you'll know the characters better if you read them in order. The next book will be "Raised By Wolves" a werewolf pup adopted by wild wolves so check it out when it becomes available. Story excerpt "I was found bleeding in the road. They took me to the hospital and saved my life." I say "What were your wounds?" He aks. "Nope my turn. What is this place?" I ask knowing I'm testing his patience but he is obviously boss here and I want answers. "My pack." He answers "your injuries?" I dont know how to answer that so I turn away from him. I dont know what hurt me only the marks it left. "Answer ME!" His words make me stiffen and I feel my hands reach for the bottom of my shirt. I slide it off and turn to the man. A stand there chest exposed. I'm boney from lack of food and bruised from my foster father and brother. Amid all the fresh brusing three white lines stand out stretching from my shoulder to my hip. "This is what they were healing!" I yell trying not to cry. I remember the pain of the marks when they were fresh. Feeling embarrassed I put my shirt back on. "Rouges." The man whispers. "Those bruses." Ruby says from behind me. "The "Love" of my "family."" I tell her. "My turn." I say and the man turns back to me as he was facing the other adults. He raises his eyebrow and I take it as permission to continue. "What are rouges?" "Packless werewolves." He says. My jaw drops. werewolves? WEREWOLVES!? What the? "They are just a story." I say. The banging starts again but this time a lot louder. I can hear the girls screaming up stairs. I pick up my phone and dial 911. "Hello this is 911 what's your emergency?" "There are a bunch of wolves outside my house. I think they have rabies or something I'm not sure." The banging gets louder and I can feel my face getting wet from the tears. "Mamm did you say wolves are there?" "Yes Yes there are wolves about 10 of them out here in my front yard. I need help!" I hang up the phone and sit on the end of the stair case. I close my eyes and start praying. Something I haven't done in a while. "I have faith, there is a god. I have faith, there is a god, I have faith, there is a god." I repeat over and over. The glass breaks and I start screaming. I stand up and try to scramble up the stairs. The door comes falling down and there are about 10 wolves standing in front of my door. A woman emerges and walks toward me. She snaps her fingers and the pretty brown wolf is in front of me. Right there by my face. "Ridanna you know what to do." Her teeth is wrapped around my neck and she sinks them in. I try to scream but it's hard to. At first it hurts but now the pain no longer exists. I feel like there is no such thing as pain and I feel light as if I can float off the Earth. Fine as hell white boy with a pro-black activist fall for each other. Cherise Miss Activist doesn't want to date Zaire the fine as hell white boy not for his race but for his secrets. What if he had a past he didn't tell you about and the only way you found out is because the past came to kill you? And I'm not talking werewolves and vampires. Cherise would only wish for problems for they would be so simple compared to hers and Zaire's. If any woman found out Zaire's secrets they'd take off running to the nearest police station or they end up in a body bag in the end. Depends....which will come first?Complete
