Bryn Aeron has been many things in his long life, an archeologist, an explorer of the new world, a knight of the round table, the list goes on...
Some occupations have lead him to glory, others to ruin and tragedy. Such as his latest -one might say- hobby...
Bryn, or as he was then known: Rhys Sayer, a famous archeologist, made an incredible discovery during an excavation in 1893 in the Royal Tomb of Akhenaten, Egypt, but what he found attacked and maimed him so severely that any normal human being would have certainly died.
He had to disappear. None of the people who helped him with the excavation would ever believe that he survived without a scratch! His secret could not become public or he would never have another peaceful day to himself ever again...
After many years and many new identities, he moved to Swansea, Wales, back to the country of his birth centuries ago and decided that he might as well return to his original centuries-old name, Bryn Aeron.
Founding "Aeron Investigations" he began pursuing his still unfinished business there, taking the role of a private investigator and detective. That way he could properly do research without attracting too much attention.
Despite the incident in the Royal Tomb of Akhenaten already changing his view of the world, Bryn never anticipated how quickly his life would be turned upside down during the next few months...
This is a fan fiction novel.
Fact: Sometime during the 1920s, the British crime writer Agatha Christie went missing for ten days. Eventually turning up at an hotel in Harrogate. After being questioned by doctors, she genuinely didn't know where she'd been.
Fiction: Suppose HG Wells was a woman not a man. Suppose the Time Machine was not a novel but an instruction manual?
Now, mash those two together add in a dead archaeologist looking for an Ancient Egyptian artifact. And you get my latest story: The Fifth Beetle!
