Hanahaki disease is a rare fictional disease in which flowers grow in the victim's lungs when they suffer from unrequited love; they cough up flowers and flower petals until they suffocate. The disease can only be cured when the feelings are reciprocated, or when the victem dies. The flowers can be removed via surgery, but the ability to love goes away as well.
