This story is based off a song of the same name by the band "Of Monsters and Men" so feel free to have a listen to the inspiration for this story!
The story is set on a large island continent, a vast forest cleaving it in two. On one side of the forest are the Kings, who pride themselves on being refined and educated, proper in every sense of the word.
On the other hand, their close neighbours are the Lionhearts, who are, in contrast, wild. They pride themselves on their connection with nature and the guardian creatures, who they call the Kali, who watch over it.
Elodie is a King, Idryss is a Lionheart.

In a world during before modernization. There were only two huge major Kingdoms. One of them was a human kingdom and the other was an anthropomorphic. Humans and Anthros never knew each other until one day a human visited the anthro kingdom which caused them to mingle. However humans started to act prejudice and skeptical towards them just because they were different and bigger which caused the anthros to get fed up with their discrimination and insults. To avoid any conflict or violence, the two kingdoms built a wall between them to avoid any contact. When Two Paths Cross - Kion x Rani
This is going to be my first Kion x Rani book and I'm writing it because I can't think of anything else to solve my writers block. Hope you enjoy it. - 2nd in Kion on September 20th 2024 Kion was abandoned at birth by his parents ( Scar and Zira ) and has been forced to take shelter in the Pride Lands. He has a strong connection to the great lions of the past. The lion guard does not include him, because instead Kiara is the leader and Kopa is first in line for the throne. He is hated by most Pride Landers for being different and is banished by Simba to make the Pride Landers happy. Now without a home, Kion wanders upon Rani, who was banished from the Tree of Life. When Kopa who is acting as King for the Pride Lands tries to conquer the Tree of Life but fails as Scar invades with an army, the Lion Guard are kicked out and Kion and Rani go on a crazy adventure. Kiongozi, prince of the Pridelands, 3rd cub to Nala and Simba, Leader of the Lion Guard, and defender of the kingdom, was always neglected by his father. His older siblings, Kiara and Kopa, hurt him mentally and physically, and Nala pretended like he didn't exist. Kion hated his life. He did everything for his family, and they still treated him like a nobody. The Lion Guard wasn't any better. They tried to convince him of suicide, and Kion almost went through with it, but he couldn't. Kion hated being treated like this. He couldn't take the abuse or neglect any more. He cried in his grandmother Sarabi's arms every night. She was the only one who cared for him. She tried getting Nala to love him, but Nala refused. That night, Kion finally fell asleep with his grandmother, but that was the last night he would ever see her again... Without his grandmother, everything just got worse. Kion ran away. The only place he could think of, was the Outlands. Zira happily let Kion into her pride, knowing he would be a great ally. Evil crept into Kion's soul, but he tried to ignore it. Kion visited the Pridelands sometimes, hoping his father, and family had changed, but they never did. Simba noticed Kion leaving and coming back almost every day, and followed him. When Kion was caught, Simba was furious. He told Kion he had to choose. Kion was put into a situation where he had to decide from respect, love, and affection, or his family. Kion had one week to decide, but in one week, there can be many changes, and in that week, Kion found love...but was it what he wanted? When Simba told Kion to decide, Kion was in fury. Kion X Rani: Tough Love
In this story Kion never went to The Tree Of Life. One day his father (Simba) told Kion that the King and Queen of The Tree Of Life would be visiting for 1 month to renew their peace treaty. Once the King and Queen of The Tree Of Life arrived Kion welcomed them as they entered the PrideLands. Kion saw a lioness behind the King and Queen, she looked about 1 year younger than him. Kion is (17), Rani is (16). (Baliyo doesn't exist in this story) (The Lion Guard exist in this story, but they will hardly play a role in it) As the days pass Kion fall's in love with Rani, Rani thought that Kion was a good lion and she considered him as a friend.
