I was smart enough to bring my phone, so I can see how long it takes. I tried calling the police when I got a chance while I was cleaning out the fridge, but the line went dead. It's been two minutes already and I haven't heard any humongous explosions, maybe LeAnne is still alive. Or maybe she decided to go without a fight, to stop them from searching. But they saw me go in the house, and they were banging down the door, so probably not.
Then the fridge stops humming and the light goes off...
The door rips open and I hold my breath...
And stare face to face with my attacker who grins maliciously.
"Hello, prey."

17. That's how old I am today. It's about time too. I was getting sick of being 16. I hear a low rumble being emitted from my chest. I run towards the woods before the change takes over my body.
