The Last Confession

Malcolm was sixteen when his mother was murdered.

There was no warning. No explanation. No reason a woman so deeply loved should have been chosen to die.

Only one question remained.

Why?

It is a question that will follow Malcolm for the rest of his life.

As the years pass and tragedy continues to find him, Malcolm becomes convinced that none of it is coincidence. Someone has been watching him. Someone knows exactly what he loves-and exactly how to take it from him.

Yet through every loss, Malcolm remains frustratingly himself: kind, hopeful, and unwilling to become as cruel as the person determined to destroy him.

Until eventually, there is only Malcolm left.

And when he finally comes face-to-face with the person responsible, he discovers that the answer to the question haunting him since he was sixteen may be far worse than anything he imagined.

Because some people kill out of hatred.

This was done out of love.
