I found a pair of old short stories that I'd written back in the day, and I am SHOOK. These things are guh-reat. It's really cool to separate yourself from a story for years and come back to it as a reader. I will likely add to this collection, but here's what I'm posting so far:

Were it Not for Michael Jackson
I had an idea for a story about meeting and falling in love with alternate universe Michael Jackson and another idea about writing from a bystanders perspective about being involved in a fight between two superheroes where they tear up the city or whatever. I ended up smashing the two ideas together and it's one of my favorite stories. I submitted it everywhere for awhile but no luck. To be fair, it is weird, lol. This was back when I was jumping through all the modern fiction hoops. It's still quite good. But I'm glad I only have to write for the reader now.

Untitled
I wrote a story in 2004 and I remember the day specifically. Or rather, I remember the impetus that created this story which was, "eff it, I'm going to write whatever I want." And this came out. I was 22. I buried it. Over the years I edited it here and there but I don't remember that. I just remember this coming out of me at 22, and me burying it. I read it this morning. It is brilliant.
