The moonlight shone through the filthy window. She gripped the blanket so tight her knuckles turned white. She gritted her teeth and shut her eyes so tight she could see stars. Wind pounded on the window. Her breathing was heavy and shallow as she continued to dream. Figures. Lies. Words. Hurt. Pain. The figures poked and prodded at her, insults and lies pouring from their mouths like water pouring out of a faucet. She thrashed and screamed, and the words cut into her like knives. Her hands were over her ears and trembling as the knives ripped her apart. All Rights Reserved
