This is the first draft of my WIP "Echoes in the Night". I'm trying to keep things smooth but it's a first draft, so a couple things may pop up, disappear, and it may seem chunky at times. Sorry about this! I'm trying my best, but it may be slightly chaotic. If I'm lucky, this will be published one day! *Overview* Lily Reed's goals have always been clear: Become a police officer, protect the people who can't protect themselves, and find a way to move out of her toxic household. Her life becomes a lot more interesting over the span of a couple weeks, and she must find a way to balance everything she's taken on. I created this story with themes of identity, independence, and connection. Lily's story is a parallel of mine, and I hope this story reaches someone's heart the way it has mine. Welcome to my story!

With her new life, to protect the people she loves or anybody for that matter, she completely shuts them away so when ever the gang does find her, they don't use anyone against her. A new boy comes into the city, accepted to a talented school, she meets him and already has him messing with her, she tried her best to push him away but he just bounces back. with him in the way, she just cant protect anyone... can she make him leave her alone? will the talking or flirting with her stop? or will she be forced back into the gang no matter what? This is 1/2 part of what I'm working on. It's kind of a haters to lovers type vibe, so there will be more of a slow burn angsty tension rather than straight up smut :) While I was writing the 50th chapter. I found a better way to describe this version of Y/N and Emily Prentiss: A self destructive drug addict with a traumatic past meets a somewhat patient federal agent... So, there will be a lot of substance usage in this story.. And it'll probably be somewhat toxic because I'm definitely not promoting substance abuse. Y/N is a total mess. After surviving an abusive relationship with the son of a mob boss who made her do some horrible things, she's been stuck in a downward spiral of anger, guilt, and self-destruction.
