May Davidson, a beautiful girl trapped in a relationship she doesn't want. She plans to break up with him; but it's hard when you've devoted four years to somebody and you knew from the begging that it wouldn't work out, but she just couldn't say no. What happens one night when her long time boyfriend proposes? Does she say yes and live an unhappy life or say no and have to begin again? --------- -As dessert came around it was cheese cake with little chocolate swirls. It was May's favourite. Once the plate was placed in from of her she couldn't contain her smile. But once she looked down her smile was gone. It was a ring right beside her favourite cake. A small engagement ring silver band and a tiny diamond at the top. She turned her head to look at Dave but he was no longer in his chair he was right beside her on one knee. Pure shock was written all over her face. Dave had a bright and hopeful look in his eyes, the same look from when he had proposed to her on that cold day. So many years ago. "Will you marry me?" Dave said in a soothing way that almost knocked May out of her chair.-

Ten years ago, a single moment ripped Ray and Cs apart-one kiss, one goodbye, and then silence. Now fate has brought them face to face again, older, heavier with the weight of choices made. The spark is still there, fierce and immediate, but Cs wears a wedding ring, and Ray has spent a decade wondering what it would feel like to take her hand again. Every glance between them feels like a duel-half longing, half accusation. Conversations hover just shy of confession, each one pulling them closer to a line they shouldn't cross. And when the truth starts to slip past their defenses, they're forced to ask themselves: is this a second chance at the love they lost... or the perfect storm that will destroy them both? "You're infuriating," she muttered, brushing past him. "And yet, here you are," he replied, too close, too casually.
