Book One in the Next Gen Series

Dozens of years in the future a nuclear war breaks out between the seven rulers of the world, and over 3/4 of the population is killed. Those who did survive were mutated by the radiation, and developed powers, but none were more powerful than the seven rulers. At the times of the bombings the rulers were holding a meeting, and someone tried to poison them. The poison in their systems combined with the radiation gave them power over death. They decided that, with their new powers, they would rule the world through a council. Every twenty years the next male in the family would inherited the chair on the council. Blaze Queen was the head chairman, and the most powerful Death.

Enter Samantha Queen, the wayward heir, last heir that is, of the Queen Chair. She was tired of the corrupt government, and made no motion to hide it. One day she gets a letter from an unknown entity in Roseland that gives her the opportunity to leave the Castle and help people. She jumps at the chance, and it changes her life forever.

*Warning* There is quite a bit of cursing in this book, and issues like self harm and depression are mentioned. Read at your own risk.

Their eyes are changed by machines, and they are identified for the bright aura-like color that surrounds their pupils and contrasts against their natural eye color, "the sunflower effect". The day of the chosen has come, and Luna Valkyrie is a seven. When she is taken by government guards, she believes her life is over.
