Well a young scientist with the name of Noah Jackson saves a kitten from a burning building and names it Aquamarine.
Over time Noah notices that Aquamarines been acting very strange. Noah runs a few test on Aqua and find out a secret that should have never been found out...

Definitely not the Little Mermaid
At least it wasn't vampires. That was Angelica's only consolation as she sat beside the bath. She glanced the boy lounging in the bath and playing with the bubbles. How did it come to this? Angelica Aubrey had an ordinary life. She lived with both her parents, had two little brothers and had a relatively normal family, with the exception of the twins of course. So how on Earth had she come into possession of a merman?! Laiken is a merman...he prefers the term mermaid though. He just wondered into the aquarium one day and started up a conversation with the obscenely rude turtles. Angelica has no idea how she's supposed to "return him to the ocean" or why he decided to live in her bathtub of all places but it's happened. Those who were taken... They never came back, dragged beneath the waves never to return. Their haunting screams were a symbol of their horrific deaths. Like shadows they lay in wait, the deep blue waters hiding them from view. With sharp claws they attack, Pointed fangs tearing into skin, Eager mouths devouring human flesh. Cally was taken, dragged under the water by one of the vicious creatures. But she was not devoured nor torn apart by ruthless claws--no. She was a captive. ~•~ Water instantly invades her senses. Her eyes sting, her lungs and nose burning. She thrashes, kicks, claws--anything to get away. Her efforts go to waste as her body slowly starts to shut down, the air in her lungs quickly being replaced by sea water. I know that he is not scared to shoot if I didn't do as I'm told but I really didn't care if he shot me but then I remember the girl that is still behind me, that he doesn't know about.
