This is a creative nonfiction essay I was assigned to write in my Intro to Creative Writing class. It talks about the racial prejudices that Native Americans went through, and how the book To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee (who I knew and who lived in my hometown) is helping to heal that divisiveness.

This is a book of poetry. Basically my emotions unleashed through words. That is how I see poetry. Sometimes what we think about and processes in our head is to much. Writing it all out helps me let go of the mess in my head. Hope you can connect with some of these because sometimes just knowing you are not alone with how you are feeling is enough to comfort yourself.
