"No you didn't." Maria acted fast. She took the letter opener from her, wiped her fingerprints off it with rag, replacing them with hers. 
"Take my car keys." She threw them at her. "Don't tell anyone about this. Get outta here! Go! Run!"

"What'd my dad hire you for?" she asked in obvious disgust.

"To defend you of course. I'm your lawyer, and with your cooperation I think we can win this case."

"Will the defendant please rise." Judge Macoster said. Maria rose.

"In the case of The People of the state of Las Vegas versus Maria Amstel, we, the jury, in the above entitled action, find the defendant, Maria Amstel..."

"Wait! I killed him!" Nona screamed, from the spectators box. 
Maria froze.
