Oliver would be convinced that he is cursed. That is, if he wanted a boyfriend, which he doesn't. Not really.

All he really wants is someone that could possibly think about him romantically without wanting to barf.
People like to choose partners based off how their natural scents complement each other, but it's by no means the deciding factor of whether a couple will sink or swim. Oliver just has the added issue of constantly smelling like rotten fish.

So on his continuing journey to find someone who could maybe stand to smell him for more than five minutes, he finds Flynn. Flynn who hides his scent as well and can understand Oliver better than anyone.
Though they are more different than Oliver originally thought, and Flynn still leaves plenty of questions unanswered. And there are plenty of institutions left free to do as they wish, that Oliver has never once questioned.

After the hierarchy of alpha, beta and omega broke down centuries ago, there are new malevolent forces afoot with more money and power than one could ever imagine. A hierarchy of inheritance and factions that puts on the facade that it was never a hierarchy to begin with.

Though why would they ever intervene with Oliver's life? But more importantly, why does it seem like every force on planet Earth is trying to stop him from getting a boyfriend?
