It's hard to have your life, the only thing you had ever truly understood and known, pulled away from you. Morgan Ravenwain knows that more than anyone. After her parents are killed, it's her and her brother against the world. They must carry on their parents' legacies as spies in a secret organization, but being in the shadow of the greatest is hard to get out of, especially if you're already carrying the weight of the world.
No one seems to understand her until one day she meets someone she finds vaguely familiar: King Arthur Pendragon.

I hesitate. Why did I have this strange feeling? This strange aura behind the door. It wasn't like a threatening kind of feeling. But it was strange. Like if I opened this door, it would change my life forever. I hear a knock again. I shake my head from these feelings and thoughts. I then open it and look down to see a young child with a hood on. Every year another person got powers, and so, the search continued. But there was always one question on mr. Knight mind: Why 12 children the first time, and only one per year after that? And one thing was for sure: whenever someone gained powers, they had to give something up in return. It was never a choice. It was just the way it was. What my mother neglected to tell me during my studies was that you don't always get what you want, the outcome you think is coming doesn't always happen, and when the smoke clears, you're always going to be the last one standing. By the end of The Certainty, Georgiana Vertigo is left with nothing more than her life, something many people would be more than happy to have. However, Georgiana is left to her own devices in a strange city, alone and heartbroken with regular intense bouts of depression.
