"I hate her." I told him, though he and I both knew that it wasn't actually true. Me and Jacy, my best friend, fought all of the time, but we still loved each other. He sighed in response. I could tell that he was getting fed up with me.
"Well, you hate everything, so I'm used to it." He told me, annoyance laced in his voice.
"That's not true. I love my mom and I love Beau. I love Starbursts and Monsters. I love the beach and the Moon. I love stargazing and dancing in the rain. I love the feeling of being free, and I love you."

I was so fucking pissed that I acted on impulse and kissed the girl. Lila doesn't say anything, handing over the floor to me in order for me to give my side of the story. After all, I've hardly given her an explanation regarding it and she deserves that at the very least. "I've been wanting to do it again ever since that night," I admit to her, a breath leaving my lips. Life is panning out exactly how I expected it to. I made it to high school. I'm a teenager. I don't have any of the partying and spring break memories I'd hoped for, but it's not bad. I've even sort of assembled a plan for what I want to do after school. And then out of nowhere this boy comes into my life, and it's like gravity shifted my entire world upside down. Everything used to be so clear; I had no trouble picturing the future in my head. But now all of a sudden it's like everything is out of focus except for him.
