"Just because we win the war doesn't mean we don't lose everything in the process." - Joey Magnom

---------

Practically everyone dreams of having superpowers. Lift a building, breathe underwater, fly. But at such a cost? Morgan would very happily shove it back to wherever it came from.

In a close future, certain children and teenagers suddenly begin to exhibit their own unique superpowers. In order to contain them, keep the secret, and abuse these young adults' power for their own advantage, the government hunted them down and opened camps to train and brainwash these 'supernaturals' in cruel ways. It didn't matter if the child was five or eighteen; they'd take them and give them the same horrible treatment.

Morgan was hunted and taken. Rylie was not.

Morgan Carter was put in the camps and wasn't able to come out the same way she came in. She became their pet telekinetic/assassin, ready to kill and torture without hesitation and knew how to. She forgot her old life, including her name.

Rylie Garner paraded as Light Glider around his city-their own personal superhero-escaping being caught with the help of his friends while trying to find his little supernatural sister, who was taken.

But then, their stories began to intertwine.

In a world ruled by disease, fear, and government control, survival is no longer a choice-it's a rebellion. After a virus devastates the population, the U.S. government uses the crisis to seize control, turning teenagers into test subjects in brutal experiments meant to create super-soldiers. Those who are captured vanish into labs where their memories are wiped, their bodies are altered, and their identities are erased. Those who escape are left with scars-and the crushing guilt of the ones they couldn't save. Artemis Cross was never supposed to be a leader. But when she's captured and stripped of everything she knows, she becomes Subject 88, forced into a nightmare of pain, injections, and psychological warfare. Her mind begins to fracture-but one memory refuses to die: Z, the boy who once held her together, the boy she can't forget no matter how deep they dig into her brain. Outside the walls, Z is haunted by her absence. He can't eat, sleep, or breathe without seeing her face. As he and a fractured group of survivors drive through a collapsing America-riddled with graffiti, riots, and people fighting to the death over scraps-Z promises he'll find Artemis, even if he has to tear the system down piece by piece. But the deeper they get into the truth, the more twisted it becomes. Friends begin to betray each other. Love starts to fracture. And the world they thought they knew is far more dangerous than they ever imagined. Because this isn't just about surviving the system anymore. It's about burning it to the ground.

{COMPLETED} "now that you've had your fun electrocuting me, would you care to hop in the backseat?" ---------------------------------------------------------- Freak DNA. That's what I like to call it. The fault to my genetic code. More often than not, it's a curse. The static running through my blood gave me a name. A cruel, daunting label of a measly bug. A roach. That's what I am to them, to the government. Roach; the nameless monster with electricity for a sense and lightening as a second nature. It ruined my life, the sparking currents playing tag in my mind, running around and bumping into everything, shaking me loose. The government, actually. They ruined my life. My curse just gave them a reason. You see, the normal population with ordinary DNA, they don't know about the people like me. The roaches of the world. We don't get that kind of recognition at the camps. There, we are only one thing in the military's eyes. We are weapons and we will act like it. Everyone else out there, bathing in the goodness they don't know they've got, they don't know about the roaches their stepping on. As long as their getting closer to the sky, they don't care what they stand on to reach it. They don't know about the sparkling dreamer that's killed 7 people before her 17th birthday. They don't about the ghost of a girl peaking around corners for her entire life because even home wasn't safe. They don't know about the fighter of steel and iron sucking on his bloody lip courtesy of the wars he battles in as nothing but a shadow. They don't know about the masked villain who would do anything to see the army they lead claim the throne They don't know about us. But they will, because we will rise. And when we arrive, we will arrive violently. ___________________________________________ Started: 10.06.15 Finished: 3.17.16

For over a hundred years, humanity has lived in fear of the monsters that roam the streets, lurking in the drains below. Women and their daughters hide, protected in their homes, while men take their sons through the world, teaching them the responsibilities of having a family to feed and dangers to avoid. No one leaves the home unless it's essential, and most of the world prefers it that way. Until one girl spends her days perched on her window seat, looking down at the world below and dreaming of a different life. Her eyes are always drawn to the dark, ominous drains in the street, the ones that often blink open to swallow and person whole. One day, that person is her little brother, snatched right in front of her from their arms of their father and gone forever. When a person is snatched, they never return, and life goes on without them. But she can't accept that. Breaking all the rules, all the things she's ever known, she braves the world outside her little townhouse and goes on a mission into the darkness to find her brother. Only, it's soon her that becomes the one lost to the drains. To survive she must rediscover her world, and in the process, rediscover herself. She will be reunited with old friends, gain new ones, find out deeper secrets about her past than she ever could have imagined, and learn that the world is even more corrupt than she always thought. *** This story contains sexist ideology, mention of cheating, some gruesome scenes, and a whole lot of monsters and darkness. It isn't overly mature... there isn't much explicit language or sexual scenes, but there is a bit of violence, so just keep that in mind... and despite all that negativity, ENJOY!

In one year, one million people across New Jersey die--and no one knows why. At the same time, thousands of people develop supernatural abilities and no one knows why--not even these new "subhumans". Some can fly, some can read minds, and some can bend steel with their bare hands. Kat Jamison wakes up one day with her right hand turned to steel and the ability to morph it into anything she thinks of, from keys to knives. While the power is fascinating, having been abused by every person she's been with, the metal hand makes her feel like another object to be used. Several blocks away from Kat, Kyle Mills and Beth Ryder, high school sophomores, discover that they can run faster than the speed of sound and struggle to keep their powers a secret. Thinking these new subhumans are terrorists, the military hunts and guns them down. One subhuman named Eli Hunter rescues Kat from a group of trained killers then leads her on the run. They escape into Manhattan with Kyle, Beth, and other subhuman refugees where they think they'll be safe. While there, they discover a genetics lab that has been leaking GMO's to the public that may be linked to their powers and make plans on breaking in to find answers. But Kat has learned to never trust anyone and is convinced she can protect herself while the rest of the world is falling apart. Kyle wants revenge on the ones killing them, Eli wants to know where his powers have come from, and Kat only wants to be normal again. With soldiers after them and mad scientists waiting for them inside the lab, they may not make it through this alive, let alone find the answers they're looking for. gOD i'm so sorry why did i write so much self-insert stuff pls this is so embarrassing Alright, let's one thing straight, being a superhero isn't as great as it seems. Just be happy that you are a normal human with a boring life. It's much easier that way. Okay, I guess it has its perks but believe me, it's not as glamorous as it seems. ~~~~~~~ I am writing purely for fun !! And writing yourself into your favorite fandoms is really fun! Everyone should try it! Flash (TV show) Fans might recognize some villains or characters (I DO NOT OWN ANY CHARACTERS CREATED BY DC COMICS. ANY CHARACTERS NOT FROM DC ARE MY OWN CREATIONS. Thank you) This is basically on an Earth where the Particle Accelerator kills everyone in Star Labs which means Wells couldn't save Barry- so no flash.
