Fawn is an orphan with a power not seen in decades. Brought up stealing to survive in an ongoing war, she has managed to avoid being forced to fight in a war she wants no part of. Until one day she was caught in a heist by the most powerful magic-user in the country and his right-hand man, General Volorn and Captain Axel. Forced to serve as one of the general's Crimson Guards, things couldn't get any worse. Or she thought until tragedy strikes and Fawn found her world will never be the same again.

I think it will be more satisfying that way, because then you'll understand the little Book 1 references I've planted here and there. Finally, the format of the title and cover for this story is different from the rest of the series. That's because I consider this to be bonus material rather than a continuation of the series.
