Doctor Owen Harper thinks he's going to die watching radiation eat his body. Then the Twelfth Doctor arrives, and takes him to the TARDIS. The Doctor has a way to give Owen back his life, and he intends to, to save him from the Darkness. Owen becomes his companion, and has to try and deal with getting used to being a living human again, on a different planet.
