Kinsley Oliver thrives on the thought of being thin, in fact that's the only notion that crosses her mind. Unfortunately, her harmful acts have landed her in Deerfield Medical Center- a hospital meant for long term patients with a variety of medical conditions. She came into the rehabilitation program with a trembling state of mind, the thought making new friends being pushed to the back of her frazzled brain- her journal was always her number one companion. 

However, she meets a girl who turns her life completely upside down. Lauren Reed has been "trapped" in the hospital for the past three months, battling the common heart disease, Cardiomegaly. She herself had made plans to make friends, but no intentions on finding love. But it wasn't until her eyes first locked with Kinsley's that her mind was completely changed.
