Alyson Valor was always a loner, her only friend was the sarcastic childhood pal Jacob Ryder. She was constantly looked at as some type of exotic specimen courtesy of her unnaturally blue eyes.
All Alyson wanted was to have a normal life not find out that Hopes Peak is crawling with supernatural creatures and that she is from a race known as Slayers, a race of Supernatural Hunters that 'protect' Hopes Peak.
Alyson soon begins training to become a Slayer against her better judgment and is sent on her first mission before she could even hold a crossbow without setting it off but she soon realizes that not everything the Council has told her is true.
Aaron Noir the outcast sent away from his pack. The Exiled One, that is what they called him, they despised the demon blood flowing through his veins. Slayers only seeing this demon spawn as an easy target after all, a Noir that hasn't mastered his powers is better off dead...
And he's also Alyson's first target but she can't bring herself to kill him...
The question is, Why?
