"The walk of shame is exactly what it sounds like. You wake up not knowing where you are, squint over at a guy who was much more attractive five shots in, and begin the process of locating the emergency exits. You slide out of bed as quiet as possible, desperate not to wake up the sleeping man-child beside you, and do a quick room search to locate your clothes. Once you've found your bra and well, who needs panties? They only really slow you down. You leave the guy's residence and pray that the twelve percent battery life on your phone holds out long enough for you to open your google maps and figure out where the hell you've gotten yourself this time. At least that's usually how my one night stands go. Now that I think about it, it sounds pretty pathetic. Not at all where I thought I would be at twenty-five."

"That one friendly gesture has turned into a normal routine. Honestly, I'm not complaining. I've always wanted to be the little spoon, so that he could wrap his comforting arms around my figure. Keeping me safe. At first, we would go to our separate rooms and then somehow, we always ended in the same bed in the mornings. Whenever we woke in the mornings, it used to be so awkward. He used to sneak out of the room when the crack of dawn had risen, him thinking that I wouldn't know that he snuck in. Now, he just comes in my room and goes to sleep with me knowing. Ever since that nightmare that night, we had started a new habit. " ____________________________________________________ Hope's best friend from Stanford has been living with her for a while now.
