NOTE: I will add chapters everyday. Violet, an African American teenager, has never gotten along with her white step mother Abigail. Violet blamed her parents divorce and her mother, Rose, developing a drug addiction on Abigail, who wants nothing more than for them to get along. With the sudden death of Marcus, Violet's father, the two must learn to live together, after Rose was not granted custody. Violet becomes determined to live with her mother and will do anything she can to acheive it. Abigail lost and mournung discovers she is pregnant, and that Marcus kept a journal detailing his life over the years. The two must learn to love eachother now that Marcus, the only thing that kept the two at bay, is now gone. Please critique to your hearts desire

Though she can't turn them off, she learns hard lessons, all of which change her view of life and God.
