When I was little my mom would always tell me that "boys will be boys" and that was just how the world worked. My young innocent self believed that was just the way of life. Little did I know that at the time my mother was in an abusive marriage that she was stuck in for 18 years. When she told me "boys will be boys" she was attempting to make me oblivious to the dangers of the world. She was trying to help, but that phrase stuck to me forever. I let boys stomp all over me for the rest of my life.

She was the angel and I was the devil. I knew better than to fall for a good girl like her but something about her lured me hard. A Lovely Life
