A maiden must marry into nobility to uphold honour in her family's name. However, when her soon-to-be husband is burned alive by a fiery creature, she realizes there's more to life than just suitors and balls.

                 ~·~·~

As a woman, Alyria Willows is expected to cast aside her pursuit of independence to fulfil her duties as an acquiescent housewife; all for the sake of one's honour not even her own.

However, the veil isn't as pellucid as Alyria thinks when a devastating upheaval leaves her grasping for answers. It's only after surviving a terrifying experience that she discovers more than blood flows through her veins.

But that'll be the least of her concerns when a creature neither man nor dragon stalks her from the shadows. His gaze pierces like iron. His power radiates like lava. But even a man of his strength cannot hinder the threat that seeks to destroy.

A ballet of starlight foretells a restless war. Lies will be unearthed, truths will be muddled, and victories will come at a steep price. But not everything is as it seems. After all, how can she trust a man of fire and ore when he may be the embodiment of evil itself?

"A fantastical cross between the Beauty and the Beast and ACOTAR." A prince, a witch, and a wolf are tied together by the sins of their parents. Can they break free of the secrets that bind them, or will the Kingdom of Eidas forever be under a terrible curse? Dalia Leary, the eighteen-year-old daughter of an outcast Seer and a downtrodden merchant, lives in a city steeped in lore and magic, where the gods rule the seasons and the noble half-bloods rule the people. The kingdom of Eidas is down on its luck, facing mass starvation and economic failure from prolonged droughts. Dal's mother seems certain that there is a strange, simple solution to both their problems and those of Eidas'. Dal just has to marry the Prince of Eidas, Prince Tullvomm. Easy, right? Of course not. The Prince is nearly ten years her senior, and engaged to be married to the beautiful Princess of the East. She is nothing more besides a common girl from Bridgewater Avenue. Besides the obvious issues of his princess fiancée and her very un-noble birth, there's one other small little problem - Prince Tullvomm is never seen without his pitch-black wolf at his side - his beastly protector. The more Dal tries to get close to the Prince, the more the ghastly wolf seems to always get in the way. Dal realizes that to get access to the Prince she must either befriend the beast or slay him, and though part dog he may be, the beast doesn't seem the type to lie down and roll over. In fact, the more time Dal spends around the creature the less sure she is that he is a dog at all.

The is now a SAMPLE ONLY. The story will continue EXCLUSIVELY on AnyStories. "Hello little one" came a booming voice, deep and sultry that made my stomach flutter like wings of a butterfly. "My Lord" I replied, keeping my head down, a quick curtesy, and eyes glued to the floor as if the marble tile was the most interesting pattern in the room. The auras coming from the dragon king was so demanding I felt like I could pass out. "Look at me little one. We do not bite. Much." the voice commanded, although gently it held power. A few snickers softly resonated. I took a breath and gently rose my eyes to meet the most beautiful golden eyes. I was so entranced that I almost didn't hear the one word that was going to change my life forever. Little did I know just how much my life was about to change. "MATE." It took me a minute to register what just happened. Excuse me? Did i just hear the word mate? Oh shit. -------- Everly lives in a world where supernatural creatures live side by side humans. Yet, ever since her father stumbled into their broken down house one dark night covered in blood and deliriously talking about a dragon with iron teeth, Fyran is no longer so sure. After her father dies and renders them all penniless, Fyran goes in search of this creature to take revenge-and the huge bounty on its head issued by the King of Sufta. Perhaps she will be successful and they'll no longer have to grovel as the poorest of the poor, and at the very least she'll acquire justice for the murder of her father, the only father she's ever had. But there is an old and forgotten prophecy as old as time fast approaching on the horizon. Nobody can stop it, fate is a force that can't be reckoned with, and everything that ever has and will ever happen to every citizen has already been foretold in their scrolls. The fate of Sufta is uncertain, and powerful forces are at play, but who has enough discernment to understand a long forgotten prophecy that's been dismissed by generations?

||WATTY 2021 SHORTLIST|| Ex-Princess-Bride wants to marry her beloved Dragon, but when a curse threatens their happily ever after, they are left racing against time to break the spell before it breaks their hearts. *** Elvira, a princess who gave up her rights to the crown to go on adventures and do good, falls in love with a dragon knight Ferrante. Alas, copious amounts of lightning bolts threaten to keep Elvira and Ferrante apart forever, to protect the rights of her long-forgotten, dead-beat betrothed. Who knew that magic-sealed marriage contracts don't have an expiration date when the royals are involved? With romance on the line, Elvira immediately sets out in search of her betrothed to wed him, bed him and be done with him. It would have been simple, except her runaway prince had since become a highway robber and nobody knows where he might be hiding. Ferrante, infuriated with Elvira's quest to save their nuptials, takes on the ancient Arcane Guild to annul the contract. More brawn than brains, the fine print is not his forte, and the dangers of sparring with nimble minds are far greater than he had seen in his nightmares. Meanwhile, a sinister puppet-master also has designs on Elvira... So, the race to the altar is on! Age range I think is NA to adult, but it's smut-free.
