For my English class I had to do a mystery project and one of the options was writing an 8-10 page mystery story, and well I procrastinated and rushed it, but I still like it, so I have decided to post it here.

Why do bad things happen to good people? A question that his boy is making himself more then ever this days. From the beginning we see a 17 year old boy, struggling to finish high School, filled up with insecurities, mental health issues, a toxic family home, and impossible standards to live up to. He has learn to not only hate his life, but to want finish it off as fast as possible. Close to finally graduating high school his English teacher, Mr Steve, assigns the class a special progect. "To be able to see life through different eyes, and write about it." For this, Mr Steve gets his class to assist a hospital 3 times a week, and assigns each student, with a patient. This is the moment where this boy meets Royal, a cancer sick 17 year old girl, that has lived in a hospital her hole life, but still finds beauty and meaning in it. Through out the report the boy gets more and more involved in Royal's life, spending unfortunately moments together. But through out the journey he asks himself more and more. "Why do bad things happen to good people?" I raised a brow at him. "I could smell you from a mile away," he whispered, tucking a lock of hair behind my ear. Butterflies. So many freaking butterflies. "That was the sugarcoated version," he added with a grin. I blinked, narrowing my eyes. "The pole didn't hide you well. Your cardigan was sticking out," he shrugged. And then came the smirk. "Now, time for my revenge." I barely had time to process before something soft and powdery rained down on me. I wiped my face. Flour. He did not just dump flour on me even if I started it. Mature, much? I thought bitterly. Poker face on. "Real mature," I said, brushing past him with fake annoyance. Time to activate drama mode. "Come on, babe, you can't be mad..." he called after me. Completed!! -- I could hear him running behind me. "HELP!" I started to scream the words repeatedly. I felt like I was the stupid, helpless girl in a horror film. I ran right into a fence and fell down. I got back up and turned around. Blake was right there. He pinned me up against the wood. "You are so stupid!" He chuckled. He grabbed a bottle of some sort and smiled. "Nighty night." He whispered. He sprayed the substance all over me until I blacked out. -- 16 year old Cathy moves from a small Rhode Island town to the big Austin, Texas. When she starts her new school, Cliffside High, everyone despises her. They don't like the same music she does and they don't dress like her. She's an outcast in their book. But when she gets home, she goes to her favorite website and chats with people who love her. Who don't despise her. But, everything changes when a stranger starts to chat with her. He compliments her, makes her feel bubbly. She feels like he loves her, and she loves him. Then things get a little weird when he asks her personal questions. Not thinking twice, she answers all of them. Cathy feels guilty afterward, and never wants to talk to him again. But he wants to meet her. I don't know what the hell is happening. One day I am happy go lucky, and the next everywhere I turn dead people are turning up. And they all want me to say something to someone close by and I do the only logical thing. I run. It isn't fair. My older sister is the witch of love, she can charm anyone with a simple touch. My baby sister is the witch of wisdom and she is starting to just know things out of no where. But now I have dead people, and worst of all, I have my unknown mates, first mate. And she is trying to make me change and be just right for him. So I go and see Clarissa, she is the elder witch my sisters and I have talked with about us. "Would you ever kiss me?" he asked "Well I find the saliva exchange gross and very.." "Emily! !" he snapped. "Alright.. Maybe." I said being honest? "Maybe?" He questioned then started to get closer to me, a little too close. So close that I could feel him breathing on my face and neck. I tried to move back but there wasn't any more space on the couch. What happened to the rest of the couch? Did it magically shrink? "Ryan?" I asked getting a little nervous "Yeah," he mumble. "What are you doing?" I asked, are noses were almost touching. "I'm trying to kiss you, so hush," he respond like it was the most natural thing to do. He started to lean in are lips were almost touching when a hard knock came from the front door. But that didn't seem to stop Ryan, it was like he didn't hear anything until they knock again. "Um, the door knock, " I said stupidly "I mean someone is at the door." I stood up. Ryan just seemed irritated. "I'll go get it." I said and headed to the door. What I saw when I opened the door made me want to run and hide. Ryan's dad was standing there with a gun in his hand. Well I've live long enough Emily is just a normal girl that happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Annoyed by her best guy friend she accepted going to a party with him which leads her into a messy scene that almost causes her life. But what happens when a boy saves her?
