The Wolves were in hiding, and had been for the last hundred or so years.
It was a curse humans had not accepted, so they were cast out.
They started the underground empire of the Pit Competitions, wolves facing off the same way dog fights were run by normal humans.
The general human world had no idea of what was happening underground, but large companies started to sponsor.
It was a new way to gamble.
Sophie Mark was part of the general human world, until she was taken from her comfortable life and dragged to Height, the school for young Wolves, young fighters, and partnered with the gorgeous and viciously ambitious Alexander Ezra.
He would go to any lengths to get what he wanted, and that was money and fame.
But he needed her, her patience, her generosity and her love to get there.
She was to be his anchor to reality, if he could just control his true nature.
