He will be hanged. Strung from a five foot rope with candles burned on the branches of the trees to hasten his soul's descent into damnation. He will be burned. Before an audience waiting to hear him screams until his vocal chords melt. And finally he will be sacrificed. A hand reaching into his chest and tearing free his heart.  He knows it. He welcomes it. He deserves this death for he has lost the right to life. And the villagers certainly agree. However, while they believe he needs to die for killing their God, he knows he committed a far worse crime. A crime for which he must be damned. Even if its only to be with her in perdition.

Tragedy can happen to anyone, anytime and anywhere, and the saddest part about that truth is that tragedy is unavoidable. No one can prevent a natural disaster from happening. No one can prevent death from knocking on their doorstep - if it's an accident, or a sickness - it cannot be prevented, and it cannot be avoided. You never know on which day tragedy will come knocking on your front door. You never know who it would strike next - if it would be you, or someone else, or someone who is very close to you. The thing is, with tragedy, it doesn't ask questions before it strikes. It just does. River and Sophia were two people who experienced the same tragedy: loss, but their stories were very different from each other, but they shared the same pain of losing someone they loved, someone who was close to them.
