Have you ever heard of an alternate universe? There's one that you definitely don't want to live in, but it has a very interesting history.
Way back, at the beginning of the Victorain era, a wall was built to keep out the monsters.
What monsters? That is a question this is commonly asked.
Remember, this is an alternate universe.
In this universe, Jack the Ripper was one. The Phantom of the Opera is based off of another.
These monsters came in all shapes and sizes. Humanoid, saytr, golem. Small, medium, large. All shapes. All sizes.
But beyond the wall.
That was somewhere that nobody wanted to go.
Some people went beyond for money. Others went beyond for research.
The unlucky who happened to be flying over this wasteland for the damned were stranded there.
They almost never came back.
Why did I say almost, you ask? Well, that's because most people disappeared or died. But there was a small group. A very small one. They returned.
Four who were stranded.
Two who went for money.
One who went for research.
Their pets, too.
These people did the miraculous.
The impossible.
But what we all wonder is;
How?

Undertale: War of The Souls
Many years have passed since the war between the humans and monsters. The humans won, and shut the monsters in a place called the underground. Keeping them there with a magical barrier, it took seven usable souls to shatter the barrier, but being monsters, their souls didn't work. Instead, they had to use human souls to break the barrier, and even then, humans were not likely to fall in. Because the human waste system ends up in the underground, the monsters are informed of what's going on up on the surface, and have developed human-like lifestyles, which included scholarship, friendships and the like, but it seemed, that the monsters were eager to get back on the surface again. Six humans were unlucky enough to fall into the underground, and the leader of the monsters, Asgore Dreemurr killed these humans to use their souls for removing the barrier. Asgore thought that those humans were the only ones that would fall in, but he was wrong. Two more humans fell in, but their souls were lost before Asgore could even use them, and those soulless ghosts were doomed to haunt the underground. Now playing the waiting game, Asgore patiently waited another human to fall, and fall it would. (Sorry! No Muffet or Grillby in this one!)Complete

With the impossible size of the universe, it shouldn't come as much of a surprise that there is life beyond just humans out there. Countless things have lived and died yet one stands above the rest due to the sheer amount of time it has lived. Almost since the beginning of the universe itself has it existed; a biological monster that would destroy and consume anything in its path. Planets, asteroids, entire stars even; whatever got in this things way wouldn't stay in the way for very long. It was a repetitive existence until one day the abomination met its match in the form of an absolutely enormous star. It ended with a draw that sent the abomination rocketing off in a random direction away from the place it had been consuming for so long. It traveled for millions upon millions of years before finally coming to a stop just outside of some odd new planet brimming with life. Along the way through space, it gained awareness of its surroundings so it was now able to choose what to do with this odd planet. Consume or Explore . . . They send them through the portal, telling them to slaughter the creatures that live there. Techno really doesn't want to do what the government asked him to do. But if he wants to go back to Earth he has to. Then of course they do him dirty and he now has to look after one of the creatures. His hair reminds him of the sun of Earth and he's loud.
