After the fall of Cocoon had rendered much of the land infertile and uninhabitable, the existing civilisations were forced to resort to hunting and foraging for natural resources to sustain them instead.

You and Noel had been the last two hunters in the Farseer village; a dying race. What was once a thriving community had been wiped out by outbreaks of disease and monster attacks, depleting their numbers until there were only few of you left.

Life in the Dying World was lonely and hard. You and Noel drifted further apart and you found solace in the surrounding wildlands instead of by the side of your childhood friend and the Seeress Yeul.

The new world is then in danger and it's up to them to safe it, but they're ordinary people now, but their new friend isn't. The l'Cie still has to complete their focus and save the world.
