As a child, everyone fears the monster that lurks under the bed or in the closet. Our parents, doing their jobs, check to reassure us that there wouldn't be a ghastly beast ready to pounce and prey on us as soon as we closed our eyes. But, what if the monster was, in fact, there? No, not in the closet per se, but inside of us? What is the terrifying notion of who we were made us afraid to be outside of the closet? Margot Greyson has always sort of known she liked girls. She thought of boys as repulsive, sweaty, rude people with enough arrogance for an entire political party. Girls were pretty, sweet, and lovable. By the time she had hit senior year, she had had three serious girlfriends, and was confident in her lesbianism. The blonde haired young lady was known for floating between girls and never desired to set down any roots. Alex Foster knew as well from a young age that guys weren't her type. However, she had ran from it as soon as she recognized the attraction she felt towards women. Her parents, two rich, homophobic business investors, had ingrained it in her that homosexuality was wrong, and would not be tolerated under any circumstances. It just so happened that their preachings had the opposite affects that they had intended on their daughter. After meeting in a bookstore, would Margot finally decide to stick around for someone? Would Alex finally embrace herself and stop running from her own emotions?

Emery Randolph swore she would never return to her hometown the day she graduated and left for college, but its eight years later and her father is getting married. It was the kind of invitation you cannot say no to yet all your senses are screaming at you to run. Emery had been running for eight years, from the one ghost that's been haunting her, her first love, Lilly Calvert. It was only meant to be one weekend, a family event and then straight home...but it was never going to be that easy, Lilly's sudden presence was drowning her in memories and flashbacks of their summer of discovery and the bitter betrayal that pulled them apart. It was just a weekend...what harm could that do? Emery could not have known that it would change the course of her life.
