1920s city immortal magic new york

New York City: the 1920's.  Lilith Sullivan, an unknown immortal with unknown magic, was on her way home when she is stopped by an attempted mugger.  The resulting events were not quite what one would commonly expect to happen, however, Lilith had never been interested in being common or expected.  This is a short story I wrote for school.  The main character, Lilith Sullivan, will be making an appearance in one of my future stories (hopefully), along with Sebastian Sullivan, who's only mention about three times.  I am not entirely sure how exactly Lilith would end up in New York City in the 1920's, so if I ever get the book finished, this little story will probably stop being canon....but I can make no promises about not referencing it in the actual book. "Hey, uh, are you okay?" someone asked. I slowly looked up and found the man looking down at me, confused. "I- I'm fine." I noticed my bag had opened and all my stuff had spilled all over the floor, scattered. I started picking it up and putting it away, shrieking when the guy knelt down to help. He smiled warmly at me and handed me my lipstick. "I'm Phoenix."
