My Alter Ego

As I child I always found it was easiest to escape into another world. A world that only I could enter and left. One only I could understand. I was happy with that, with just me.
As a young child, I fell in love with the arts, any kind really. Dance, paints, sketching, writing, etc, etc. that was my way of feeling I could at least make a difference in a world so big I couldn't even make a difference in my own home.
As I grew I continued to get the highest grades, the top of my classes, winning trophies, and awards, but it was never good enough. I would come home, my feet bruised and bleeding from the hours and hours in the pointe shoes, my legs numb from the constant movement, my body sore from the constant abuse from the bullies at school, but I would always open my laptop and grow my world just a little more. That made everything I did worth it.
I thought that I would never escape but that all changed when a stranger came to me wanting help.
