This story can be read as a stand alone book, but it has connective tissues to The Skye's the Limit. Although there will be a third book, and that book is a continuation from both of these stories. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~. The second book in The Wanderers of the Stars Saga: The galaxy already knows about the crew on the Spector. This book introduces another crew. This one has two 18 year old girls. One named Harper, and the other one named Kira. Kira is another crystal-user. Mia is her mentor. Big Brother is still at large, but this time there's a face to them. Kira was abandoned by her parents when she was a baby. She was left alone to survive. She joined the resistance. Kira is a great fighter, and very compassionate. Unfortunately for her so is the face of Big Brother. The face of Big Brother is a man of the name Lincoln Fanger. He is also a crystal-user, but his isn't blue-green. His is red-yellow. They are from opposites sides, yet they come together.

In the far reaches of the cosmos lies the Jaago System, a cluster of six planets bound together by fragile peace and a crumbling alliance. Once protected by the ancient order of the Oculus-beings born with extraordinary visual powers-the system now bows to the control of the Jaago Space Republic (JSR), a government that has outlawed the very heroes who once saved them. On the lush, floating island dotted planet of Brenon X, sixteen-year-old Jasstan Gerdurr fights to survive, an orphan after his parents murder. Homeless and bitter, Jasstan scavenges the red ferns that power the floating cities above, unaware that deep within him lies an untamed power that could alter the course of the galaxy. When a monstrous sea creature attacks, Jasstan's left eye ignites with a brilliant green light-granting him control over space itself. His awakening draws the attention of Cotaar Beran, a legendary wolf-like Oculus who has lived in hiding since the purges began. Cotaar offers Jasstan guidance and reveals the truth: his parents were killed by an Oculus for creating weapons that would kill their kind. Meanwhile war arrives in the form of the Toscothians -an invading race of four-armed, violet-skinned warriors who wield invisibility technology and subjugate entire colonies. As the JSR falls into chaos and the Street Sweepers turn their weapons inward, Jasstan and Cotaar flee to the desert planet Steron X, where Jasstan must endure the Oculus Trials-ancient tests of mind, spirit, and power at the hidden Jaago temple. To save the Jaago System, Jasstan must master the very power that could consume him-and decide whether to follow the fallen path of the old Oculus or forge a new destiny that unites a broken galaxy.
