You ever hate people for no reason? Just based off what they do just annoys you to no end? Well for me it's Superheroes. I hate how they seek attention from the world and bathe in its glory, but until one unfaithful night where I am practically mugged and saved by these famous beings, I learn a little more than I should. Like the fact I wasn't saved by the heroes, but a villain. Hi, I'm Hope Dale and this is the story of me Unmasking The Supervillain.

You're just a little birdie, minding your own business-flying around, dodging falling leaves, trying not to get too involved in the messes of the city below. But, oh, the drama! The masked hero and the brooding villain you've been watching for months-yeah, those two? They have a lot of secrets. The hero's perfect, obviously, saving the world and all that. But the villain? Oh, dear. By day, they wear a mask of evil and power, but you've seen what happens when the cape comes off. There's some serious darkness lurking in their private life-self-loathing, quiet pain, and way too many late-night mood swings. But don't worry, the villain's got it under control... or so they think. You thought their love story was one of those sweet "enemies-to-lovers" kind of deals, until you saw the truth from way up here. It's a mess. Betrayal. Anger. Love. Secret identities. A fight that's way more personal than you ever imagined. But hey, that's not your problem, right? You're just a bird. Except, well... Maybe you care. Maybe you're the one who's been flying around, wondering if their messy, secret love story will ever have a happy ending-or if one of them will end up on the wrong side of the city's skyscraper (literally). From your vantage point, it's a little too close for comfort, but hey-no one ever said love was easy, even for villains and heroes. Just try not to get caught in the crossfire, okay? Guide to Being a Superhero...'s BFF (Guide to Being, Novella One)

9 parts Complete

Friendship doesn't change when your bestie becomes a fire-wielding champion, but a lot of other stuff does. Like having to put 'kidnapped by idiots with powers' on your weekly schedule. And enduring said idiots' cliché monologues while inwardly roasting their interior decorating skills. Hey, I'm Mira. That's right, Miracle Simmons. BFF to America's favorite superhero celeb; Firebird. (Bu-bye, Chris Evens, your reign is over.) You've probably heard of her, but not of me. That's okay! I'm her bestie! It's my job to make sure she doesn't burn herself out fighting morons, keep her focused in her actual real life, and try to show her that she doesn't have to pick every fight. Uh-huh, I have it way worse than her. Anyway, if you're reading this, you are most likely a newbie superhero bestie. Or a salty television producer. Or my mom. (Hi, Mom.) Whoever you are; buckle up, and enjoy my tale of supervillains who aren't villains-or super, superheroes who don't want to work anymore, and the rotten media that started it all. And me. The wanna-be normal engineering student who God decided had to be kidnapped to get a date.
