Laine is a 17 year old boy boy who lives in New York with his family, or so you can call them. Laine's father is frequently working and even when he is home, he never seems to care, letting Laine's Step-mother run the household. Quiet and somewhat rebellious, Laine is a typical NYC high school student. But what lies behind that smile? One day his step brother and step sister rummages through his room and phone hoping to prank him only to find out he is gay! Looking down on him even more and laughing at it, they throw Laine out of the closet, shocking his step-mother and his father. His step mom belittles him and scorns his very existence while his father glares at him in disgust and disappointment. What else could go wrong? His step siblings spread the rumors and slowly Laine is too embarrassed to go anywhere. As summer is fast approaching, his parents plan a trip to travel Europe and they have the time of their lives all the while ignoring and pretending Laine isn't there.
