A small excerpt from a story I've started writing. Draconia is about an alternate history starting in 1347 A.D. where various normal and fantastical events change the course of history.
Dragons have emerged from the Northern tip of Scandinavia, razing land and slaughtering anyone they come across. They push further and further outward, threatening the existence of humanity itself.
The Komnenian Restoration never ended, and the Byzantine Empire now controls all of Anatolia, the Holy Land, Egypt and Sicily. Tunis is a friendly satellite state of the empire. With Tunisian help, the Crusaders pushed the Moors out of Iberia much earlier, while Morocco was unified with Tunis.
The Russians pushed into the Baltic while the Golden Horde pushed into Russian land. The Romanians and Rus were unified through a peaceful transition of power.
Ireland, Scotland and England are in a constant state of war with each other.
The Holy Roman Empire is strong and centralized, but seeks to push into Italy for legitimacy as the true Roman Empire.
The Turks, having been pushed out of Anatolia, now seek to consolidate their power in Persia.
With dragons wiping out all opposition without any effort and purifying the lands they conquer, all the warring nations of Europe have declared peace and formed a coalition to try and defeat the draconian menace. Despite this the dragons continue wiping out the armies of Europe, and continue to push further and further south. It looks like nothing can stop them. Can humanity hope to survive this onslaught?

I know crazy right. My father once visited the land of Pyrrhia and fell in love with a mudwing which was gusto, but he stole a potion and used it to turn himself into a mudwing. Then I was born, but I'm hunted down, by the WeatherWings. They want me dead. So I was taken to the Scavenger world (also known as Earth) and was raised there. But now, I have to fight the king of the WeatherWings. Yes a king. He not only wants to destroy me, but destroy Pyrrhia and Earth as well. He will kill you, and destroy my and your loved ones. I am the only one who could stop him according to the prophecy. Or is it? Get prepared for his attack, but he will not come for you, I will defeat him for Earth and Pyrrhia's sake for survival. "WHY CAN'T YOU GET IT INSIDE YOUR HEAD?" He trapped my trembling body between his arms and slammed his fist into the wall. I flinch at the sound as I feel tears forming in my eyes. Magic runs in their veins, making them witches and wizards. But the people did not fear them, for they knew that both good and bad witches and wizards existed and their rulers were anything but evil....atleast some of time. Hogwarts:- school for royalty, that also taught the princes and princesses how to control and use their magic, was a boarding school that royalty attended from many places around the world. Including the golden trio. When the school year comes to an end and many of the prince's and princesses are weighed down by the pressure of ascending the throne, Draco and Hermione has their own little problem. This caused the queens to turn to a prophecy starring four dragonlings who might just save them all. Nerve is one of the prophecy dragonlings, who has almost lived his entire life not knowing he has his talons in two mancers. While on the journey to restore peace on Drealite, he learns that not every dragon close to him can be fully trusted, and he cannot let his guard down.
