Abstract Strength

Vaila and Ivy Hawthorne are twins, and it's their first year at Hogwarts, five years since the death of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. Originally British, but hiding in America during the height of his rein, they have come back to return to their old life, but not all is good. Fear of Rouge death eaters and out of control dementors plague the wizard world, and with good reason. It is normal to see patronuses stalk streets, and for more difficult charms and other defense spells to be taught much earlier, with great success. High expectations are held, coming from a long line of proud Ravenclaws in the Hawthorne family. Everyone is shocked when the unexpected happens, and Vaila is only able to make it through with her best friend, Rex Bloodsworth. Beyond her normal struggles, she must grow true to herself to withstand the backlash of this rare event. More than that, Vaila can sense something..... Different. Beyond the sickly 2nd year and the strange noises at night. Will she be able to guide herself through her time at Hogwarts? Or will she fall into the person other's want her to be?
