"A whole month til your birthday Renae, can you believe it? "Trayn  yawns as she states the obvious in a low whisper. 

"I can actually Taryn," I send her a small smile although she can't see it through her phone, "but one thing I can't believe is that I'm almost sixteen. "  I lift my head from my pillow to get a good glimpse of my clock near my bedside. 2:39ᗩ.ᙢ and I'm still drowsy. 

"In exactly 31 days, " she giggles in a raspy morning tone. "And the count down begins today"
