Mia Hernández has been an orphan since she was two, she was taken in by Talia Hale until the fire, then she was placed with the McCalls. Now older and adopted for the second time in her life, she faces more challenges than before. When Scott gets bit, she knows her secrets must come out. She now has to try and get Derek and Scott to get along, but her brothers are stubborn and her friend Stiles is feeling the same.

As time goes on they all face many new things, enemies, friends, places, new school years and life. Mia also must find out the truth of her parents' deaths, why they died and who's to blame, but unfortunately for Mia things won't be so easy for her and it may cost her just about everything.
