Author's Note (5/2019): Hello! Thank you for reading this short story! I made up this tale when I was in 9th grade. This was entirely influenced by other folk tales with my spin on it :)

ESSENCE; A Journal of Time ( Nigerian Scifi )
The first chapter of this book began with a young boy named Cosmos in a family of six, whereby he was coming of age into a man. He has always had the feeling of being out of place in the world, or perhaps it is the world which is out of place. He has always been a Genius, which is both a blessing and a curse. This boy has an imaginary friend which he nicknamed Morningstar. He is very picky with his choice of friends, it is not easy finding someone who can match his complex mind. One could say it is because he sees the best and the worst in people. The storyline took a different route after he got abducted by a dreaded terrorist sect during his NYSC program in Borno State, Nigeria (a program for Nigerian citizens, after they graduate from an higher institution). A lot began to unfold afterwards, he soon discovered that he is just the tip of the iceberg in an entire world filled with principal actors. Time soon made the readers understand that there are a lot of higher forces at play in this novel; humans with godlike technologies and powers out of this world. A story with pirates and traumatized characters is great. Oceans Rules is a Sun and Moon show based book, though is placed in a competely different dimension, and doesn't follow the events in the lore at all. • Humans • Family • Relationships • Trauma • Solar × Ruin • Lunar × Gemini • Foxy × Sun This story is gonna have a mix of flashbacks, flashforwards, though is going to be mostly slice of life. If there are any spelling mistakes please tell me! I have struggled with spelling and grammar for quite some time, and help would be heavily appreciated!! "Unfortunately, I wish it was just a made-up story, something that belonged in the realm of fiction. But it isn't. I'm guessing it started happily at first. Just a naive 10-year-old enjoying what life threw at her. As they say, when life gives you lemons, make lemonade. But I didn't. I longed for more. With my lemons, I wanted lemonade, lemon cake, lemon pie, honey and lemon juice, lemon tea, and even lemon water!" I guess now I can't have any of that anymore, right?
