Nearly one year after Marshadow attacked the Bolt Guild and the Continent of Malena the Shadows are re-emerging from their dark realm. Zax, Jet, Alpha, and Omega plunge into the Shadow Realm in hopes of saving the usurped king Marshadow and defeating the current King of Shadows before he activates the Gamma Gate, destroying the barrier between the two realms in the process. 

If the barrier is destroyed their world will be surely doomed. The Shadows will posses their victims freely and plague all of the world, until nothing is left. And all that remains are the mindless vessels the Shadows control. Can the small guild and their allies defeat this almighty power? With one victory against the Shadows under their belt they hope to free Marshadow and destroy the entire Shadow Realm, finishing the demons that took everything from them once and for all.

Yet the fear of their past will constantly try to consume them upon the dangerous journey into uncharted territory. Knowing what sacrifices were needed to defeat one Shadow, how could they stand against an entire army? 

This is the third book in the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Shadow Saga. Read the previous two stories Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Shadows of the Truth and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Beta Rises to understand the current plot and characters.
