Oliver is a young boy who fancies himself in love with his beautiful classmate Faye. When one day a messenger comes into the classroom to tell the class that a war is heading there way and that they will need some extra recruits to help fend off their enemy, Germany. When the messenger comes in an gives the news to the class Faye begins to feel anxious and runs out of the class. Oliver follows her, but soon Faye turns to see him standing behind her, Oliver leads Fayye out to the shed where they talk about why Faye is nervous. This is only the beginning of their friendship.
Later Oliver receives the news that his best friend wants to go off to war, leaving his lover behind. He decides to go after him and sign up to go into the war. This is when Faye decides to become a nurse in hopes of seeing him again. But will they see each other again? Or will he die in his battles and leave his new best friend behind?
It is up to fate to decide. . .
