Here's a riddle: What two words are the most fun to say, but are the most horrifying to hear? Give up? The answer is: "I'm engaged."

And just so you know, this story isn't about me getting to say them.

It's not that I'm jealous or anything. Well, okay, yes. I'm a little jealous that my best friend is getting married.

But it's not like I'm going out of my way to sabotage her wedding or anything because of it. I just don't spend every waking moment focused on the thing. If my best friend in the entire world can't understand that, it's not my problem. I have a life of my own, you know.

I mean, I'm getting married, too!
Someday.

And trust me, when I do, my wedding is going to be awesome. I've already got the groom picked out and everything. (He just doesn't know it yet.)

Livia thinks I'm being ridiculous. I think she's being selfish. I mean, who says this entire year has to be about her? Like I'm just supposed to drop everything and be a slave for the next twelve months? Yeah right.

If that makes me The Girl You Love to Hate, so be it. I don't care what anyone thinks.
I know I'm better than that.
