All that kept Leah alive through her years of pain was the fact that she was going to be able to leave when she turned 18. it didn't matter that she was a high-school dropout, and was never going to college. It didn't matter that her father was never home, and her mother was depressed. All she focused on was what she would make of her life once she left.
