What happens when your only and best friend is your mother? A 14 year old girl by the name Lux Evangeline lives in Tokyo Japan despite being originally from London England. She lives alone with her mother on the second floor of a small but popular bakery.
Lux ends up finding interest in a book that her grandmother wrote for her, and she tries to discover the hidden meaning behind it. She isn't the most wealthy person and some of her findings end her up in possibly life threatening situations. All while the only person she trusts and considers a friend is her own mother, who is definitely hiding something.
